Yala which has a protected area of nearly 320,000 acres of land which houses 44 variations of mammals, 215 different bird species alongside Leopards, Elephants, Peacocks and Crocodiles to name a few.

Udawalawe National Park offers you mammals, reptiles, birds and more. Known for their Elephant herds, you will be lucky enough to see these gentle animals basking in the sun then taking a dip in the lake whilst spraying each other with water. Submerse yourself into nature at Udawalawe, as they have nature reserves for greenery enthusiasts. Udawalawe also lets you enjoy the park by staying in one of their beautiful bungalows, allowing you to wake up to the sound of birds chirping before you head off on your safari.

If you are a lover of tea then you must set aside time to go on Sri Lanka’s astounding tea trails. Walk along paths which form a maze through acres upon acres of tea leafs which are handpicked and brewed to give you an afternoon tea experience which will be hard to top.

If you dream of laying by the open water then this tear drop which sits next to India is a gorgeous escape. The Sri Lankan coast is surrounded by golden sand which is the perfect getaway where you will be able to relax and unwind. For those who prefer to relax through water sport then this is the place to go surfing. The south coast provides 3ft of gorgeous waves you can weave in and out of.
